Even though we've grown significantly, I've been intentional to always know each of our amazing clients personally. They each have my cell phone number, and we've shared thousands of texts and vision calls to ensure each wedding is crafted specifically to each couple's vision.
Beyond the wedding world, I have a Master of Fine Arts in Photography and teach other creatives how to pursue their craft. I've held a camera in my hand for over 20 years, previously worked as a corporate marketing director, and am a wife and homeschool mom to my two beautiful children, pursuing Jesus every day.

When I started Amative Creative in 2016, I had the goal to grow the brand into a luxury photo & video team that would be able to serve clients all over the world. Today, we've more than achieved that goal, with over 300 glorious weddings, documenting in 7 countries and a dozen states, with a professional team of 20+ creatives dedicated to serving our clients with excellence.

We always tear up at least once at weddings. (more like 10 times) There's nothing greater than watching this chapter of love play out right before our eyes, and forever captured by us for generations to see. "Amative" (am-ah-tiv) comes from the same root as amorous, and means to be prone to love. So it's no surprise that there's nothing we like more than telling a good love story! (our 3-circle logo even represents weddings rings united by God's Love - hallmark-level sappy, we know)

And while you may understand the differences somewhat, there's a lot that goes into the aesthetics of each one. The lighting on your wedding day, the prominent colors people wear, the time of the year and seasonal color changes, and even the time of day can all play a dramatic role in how a particular editing style looks.
First of all, you may have noticed while cruising through our website that we actually have a mix of all of these editing types. Check out the different real wedding galleries on our portfolio page to really see the differences. And while we may have several photographers who shoot on behalf of our brand, I (Andrea) am the one who will personally be perfecting your editing style and communicating with you from start to finish.
And here's the biggest thing about the different editing styles: I love them all. I find beauty and perfection in each one for different reasons. I edit in different ways because each wedding, person, season, and day has a unique look. And honestly, different editing styles accentuate different things, and can make or break the image.

It’s for this reason that I spend a lot of time initially picking the edit to use for a whole gallery. When we first start to discuss your photos, I will try to get a sense of your individual style. I'll send you a questionnaire that helps me know your preferences, and I always send a sample to make sure we’re all on the same page. Then, once the style is chosen, I go through the whole gallery and adjust each image to fit your unique aesthetic.
I honestly believe there isn’t a one-style-fits-all aspect to photographing a wedding day… and there are even a dozen ways to edit something “light and airy” or “dark and moody.” Different adjustments accentuate different details, colors, and lighting. And it's in those little details that truly makes the magic happen!
When you decide to choose us to capture your wedding day, rest assured knowing that I will be customizing your images to truly fit who YOU are, and not just match our personal "brand color" scheme. Your wedding day should reflect who you are; it's not about us. It's 100% about you marrying your best friend and capturing that as genuinely, and beautifully as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions
There are no travel fees anywhere in the state of Virginia or DC. Many locations in the surrounding states are also free of charge. For many destinations we also offer no cost or minimal fees for travel. Please inquire about your specific location for more!
Depending on the season, most photo galleries receive a preview gallery the same week as the wedding, and the full gallery is delivered 8-12 weeks after the final edit style has been selected by the couple.
No! We believe you should always have access to your memories, so unless the gallery provider we use goes out of business, we will never tell you that we're deleting your gallery, and you will always have access to your photos. There is also no limit on how many photos you can download, and no additional fees for family using your gallery.
Absolutely. We're happy to share our COI with your venue, and also provide them with Additional Insured details on our $2M policy, if required. Many venues require this! Our drone pilots also carry the required commercial Part 107 Licenses from the FAA.
Of course! We have a great network of photographers around the world, and we're happy to help coordinate a session at almost any destination without travel fees. Local photographers will know the best photo ops, and we will personally edit the photos to match your custom edit style.
