Amber & Kristopher 5/7/2022

“Nobody puts baby in a corner”.

And nothing could keep Amber & Kristopher from saying I Do. Not Kristopher rejecting Amber when they first met, not a global pandemic, and not a little bit of rain.

The couple met at a birthday party in Harrisonburg, VA. A mutual friend introduced them. Amber told us that it took her all night to work up the courage to as Kristopher to dance and then he said “No”. To which she responded, “That wasn’t a question”. And then she pulled him onto the dance floor. They’ve been together ever since.

Amber told us that she and Kristopher are best friends. “We are opposite from one another which makes us push each other. Our love story is that we met shortly after breaking things off with long-term relationships and we knew right away that we had something special. We moved in together after only knowing each other for 45 days. We have been together ever since. When you know, you just know.”

Kristopher proposed on December 21, 2019, in New York City at Radio City Music Hall. The couple was given a private tour of the theatre after a performance and when Amber walked on stage, Kris was down on one knee and the entire cast and crew of the performance was cheering.

The Wedding

Amber & Kristopher were married on a rainy and chilly May day in Pembroke, VA.

Their wedding was held at Mountain Lake Lodge, which was also the filming location for Dirty Dancing.

The Details

Amber & Kristopher wanted their personalities and their love to be at the center of their big day. In Amber’s words, “we want our wedding day to look and feel like us”. The couple had to postpone their wedding due to the pandemic, and because of the shift, they wanted the day to be simple and thoughtful with a rustic chic theme.

“We are doing all greenery and white flowers but relying on the beauty of the venue to provide a lot of warmth and natural greenery”.

When we asked Amber & Kristopher to give us three words to describe their day, they said…

1) Family & friends (that’s all we care about)

2) Intimate & fun

3) Us (There’s a lot of “us” incorporated in this day. From movies to songs, quirky desires, traditions, etc…)

The Wedding Party

Perhaps the most beloved members of this wedding party were the canine members. Amber & Kris’ dog as well as Amber’s brother’s dog were featured during the ceremony. And we love their little tuxes.

The Bride & Groom

This couple had “the time of their life” during their big day and it shows.

The Ceremony

Amber & Kris’ best friend officiated the wedding. It was important to them that the ceremony be extremely personal.

The Reception

After the ceremony, the guests [dirty] danced the night away in celebration of Amber & Kris.

Congrats to Amber & Kris. May you have a lifetime of happiness, fun, and dancing!
