These can be the scariest words that come out of a friend’s mouth… or they can be the best. In Laura & Ryan’s case, these words set up the rest of their lives. Laura’s best friend and maid-of-honor, Mason, introduced her neighbor, Ryan, to Laura and as is so often said, the rest is history.
Laura and Ryan connected over their shared values of meaningful time spent with family and friends. Their adventurous spirits lead them to try new things together and when the going gets rough, they are each other’s support system. As Laura says, “we are a great team”.
Ryan proposed to Laura on March 22, 2020, while on a walk in Maymont Park. As they approached the gazebo in the Italian Gardens, little did Laura know that her friends and family were hiding in the bushes to capture the special moment.
We were thankful to be able to capture Laura & Ryan’s engagement photos in the same park where Ryan proposed. These will be memories that they hold on to for a lifetime.
When you have a venue as beautiful as the Virginia House, you don’t have to do a lot to decorate. Laura & Ryan were able to keep things simple for their wedding. Laura wanted to make sure that their wedding day felt fun, lively, and warm.
It was also important to her to include a table of family members who couldn’t be with them on their wedding day as well as a table of photos of Laura & Ryan throughout the years.
It was important to Laura and Ryan to have their nearest and dearest by their sides as they celebrated their big day. The bridesmaids looked stunning in burgundy and blush dresses from Kennedy Blue and the groomsmen sported grey suits with burgundy ties from Men’s Wearhouse.
We are in love with Laura and Ryan’s wedding photos. These two look like they stepped right out of a magazine. Perhaps it was the European-looking venue in the heart of Virginia that added to the ambiance, but we think it was the couple’s love for each other shining through in each photo.
Laura & Ryan decided to have a full Catholic mass for their ceremony. The mass took place at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Richmond, VA, and was the perfect start to this couple’s new life together as husband and wife.
After the traditional ceremony, the party moved to the Virginia House for an evening reception.
And because there’s no use fixing what isn’t broken, Laura and Ryan included some beloved reception traditions, including the bouquet and garter tosses.
At the end of the evening, Laura & Ryan said goodbye to their guests and ran off to their honeymoon with a bubble sendoff.
Congrats to Laura & Ryan!
