Jade first met Steven in the summer of 2016 when she moved to Central Virginia. Steven’s connection to Jade’s friends and family led to an introduction and the two bonded by spending time together that summer at Smith Mountain Lake. Jade tells us, “Steven is fun and amazing at communicating. We both love the outdoors and doing activities together and learning from each other. We are always up for trying something new and working as a team. No matter what we are doing, we have an amazing time as long as we are with each other.”

And since summer love was the name of the game for Jade & Steven, it’s no surprise that Steven also proposed during the summer season. Steven proposed on June 19, 2020, while on a drive to their favorite outdoor spot.

Then, on July 3, 2021, Jade and Steven finally tied the knot.

The Details

Jade picked navy and shades of blue as her colors for the wedding and wanted to combine these colors with lots of greenery. Her goal was to have a formal yet laid-back vibe and she accomplished this with white tablecloths, flower petals, candles all in the reception area, and mason jars of baby’s breath lining the aisle of the ceremony space.

The Family

First looks can be so special. Jade took extra care in how she orchestrated her first look with her bridesmaids (wait until you see what she did for them), her [non]first look with her husband-to-be, and perhaps our favorite of all, her dad. If you remember, these photos were some of our favorites of 2021.

The Bridal Party

Jade wrote a letter to her bridesmaids to read to them prior to the ceremony. The moment had us all in our feelings.

The Bride & Groom

It was important to Jade and Steven to privately share their vows with each other prior to the ceremony. But, they didn’t want to ruin the surprise of seeing each other. So, without peeking, the two pledged their love to each other.

The Ceremony

Steven’s father officiated the evening ceremony set in front of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The Reception

One of our favorite parts of a wedding is when we finally get to watch our bride and groom celebrate the new marriage with their closest friends and family. That entrance moment into the reception can be one of the best parts of any wedding day.
