Lennika & Thomas 7/10/2021

“With you, my world which was lacking in color is now vibrant” – Thomas

It’s like a scene out of a movie. Thomas almost skipped his weekly Wednesday night Bible Study and if he had, the chance encounter of meeting Lennika might not have happened. Thankfully, Thomas did attend that Bible Study and he did meet Lennika. And this meet-cute led to a happily ever after.

For Lennika & Thomas, it’s their love of exploring the world and experiencing new things that really bonds them together. It was on one of those adventures, that Thomas finally popped the question. He tells us that they, “Went on a hike in the Shenandoah National Park for my 34th birthday, to see waterfalls. While crossing a stream, Lennika wanted to take one of those hand-holding shots. I said a corny line about how we could make it a better shot as it was missing something. Got on my knee, (atop some wet rocks), and before I could finish proposing she had the ring on her finger.”

The Details

When we asked Lennika & Thomas what one word they would use to describe their perfect wedding, they said “FUN”. They wanted an all-white wedding with a party vibe. The goal was chic meets rustic.

The Food

Mosaic Catering Events did a wonderful job with the food for the reception. It was both beautiful and delicious.

We loved the Gelati cart set up at the reception. It was a unique addition and added a sweet alternative for those who may not want cake. For other unique wedding tips, read our latest tip blog with ideas from brides and wedding guests.

The Bridal Party

We loved Lennika’s BRIDE balloons in her bridal suite. They made for some great pre-ceremony picture-perfect moments.

Lennika & Thomas’ bridal party looked gorgeous in all white from House of CB and Jim’s Corner at Tiffany’s Bridal.

The Bride & Groom

The grounds of Ashton Creek Vineyards were the perfect setting for Lennika & Thomas’ wedding portraits. Though truly, this couple would look gorgeous in any setting.

The Ceremony

Lennika & Thomas’ early evening ceremony took place in the heart of the vineyard surrounded by a canopy of trees.

The ceremony was officiated by Reverend Dr. Paul A Coles and guests were welcomed by music from trio string ensemble Ibis Music Group.

Perhaps one of the best moments of any ceremony is peeking back at the groom as the bride makes her way to him down the aisle. Thomas’ face did not disappoint when he saw his bride for the first time.

Lennika & Thomas opted for a sand pour as part of their unity ceremony. Check out our unity ceremony blog for more options.

The Reception

Lennika & Thomas’ reception photos look like stills out of a television show. Their all-white theme mixed with some of the gold elements in the reception was the perfect backdrop for celebrating Lennika & Thomas’ new marriage.

One of the sweetest moments of this wedding day was the mother-daughter dance during the reception. Lennika danced with her mother Sandra and had us all in tears.

Congrats to Lennika & Thomas. Your wedding was picture perfect, and we wish you all the best as you adventure through life together.
