When Brayden first started thinking about finding a wife who would take on Army life with him, he thought the task would be impossible. Enter, Paige. Paige & Brayden met during Paige’s freshman year of college while playing beach volleyball with friends. Paige says, “We are the exact same person with the perfect amount of differences/interests. We communicate with each other even through the difficult conversations and always find a way to make each other laugh… there’s no one I’d rather spend the rest of my life with exploring the world.”
In March of 2020, Paige planned an unexpected trip to see Brayden in Georgia where he was completing Army training after her lacrosse season ended early. When Brayden heard Paige was on his way, he threw together the proposal in less than 24 hours. Paige says, “We went on a hike and he had his friends set up everything at the top of this overlook and had one of our friends distract me while he changed his clothes. The friend then blindfolded me and led me to a rose petal path leading up to this beautiful overlook of the canyon with decorations and music in the background.”
A little over a year later, on May 29, 2021, Paige & Brayden were married at Sierra Vista in Central Virginia.
Paige wanted to make sure that her entire wedding was designed to show off her venue. “I am envisioning greenery and mountainscapes to capture the natural beauty of Sierra Vista. We both love the outdoors and want that incorporated in our theme.”
Paige & Brayden’s wedding favors from Etsy were featured in our A Gift for Me, A Gift for You blog.
Instead of doing a first look with the bride & groom, Paige was able to show off her wedding dress to her mom, dad, and bridesmaids before going to pray with Brayden before the wedding. To keep the suspense, Paige & Brayden kept a door between them as they stole final moments together before the ceremony.
We love that these bridesmaids and groomsmen were all about having fun on Paige & Brayden’s big day. And it didn’t hurt that they looked lovely in their wedding finery. The bridesmaids wore dusty blue dresses from Azazie while the groomsmen’s blue suits were from Menguin.
Four years after meeting on the sand of the volleyball court, Paige & Brayden finally became husband and wife. There’s something special about photographing a couple that’s been together so long and knows each other so well. They almost move together as one.
There are two kinds of people at a wedding, the kind that watch the bride walk down the aisle and the kind that turn and watch the groom instead. Brayden’s reaction to seeing Paige for the first time didn’t disappoint. And Paige’s smile lit up the entire venue as she made her way down the aisle to her husband.
Paige & Brayden were married at the foot of the cross with Brayden’s dad Jason as the officiant.
And if you haven’t yet checked out our Best First Kisses blog, Paige & Brayden’s made the list. It also made the list of our favorite shots of 2021. I’m sure you’re not surprised. What a great moment!
What a party! From the moment Paige & Brayden walked into the reception the dance floor was the place to be.
Thought that didn’t stop Paige & Brayden from taking a break from all the dancing for cake.
Before getting back to the party.
Congrats to Paige & Brayden.
