54% of couples say that they met on a dating app. And Sarah & Jonathan are part of that 54%. Jonathan had just finished his first-year teaching and wanted to meet new people, Sarah had just ended a relationship and wanted to dip her toes back into the dating pool. What better way than to test out a dating app? Sarah decided it was one of the worst dating apps, but before she could delete it, she matched with Jonathan, and he started messaging her. Sarah says, “We spent some time chatting on the app and over text before we finally went on a date and met each other for the first time. We quickly became friends and spent the summer together. We started dating at the end of the summer, and we were each other’s best friends by the end of that year.” One Sunday afternoon, eleven months after Sarah & Jonathan matched and started dating, Jonathan popped the question in between episodes of their favorite t.v. show, The Office. So, while Sarah may not recommend the app they met on, she 10/10 recommends online dating.
We love when we get to follow a couple throughout their engagement as they make the journey down the aisle. We shot Sarah & Jonathan’s engagement photos on Percival’s Island and in Downtown Lynchburg.
The bride looked radiant in her dress from Ashley Grace Bridal.
If you know us, you know we love, love, love Glencliff Manor in Rustburg, VA. This venue not only has multiple ceremony and reception locations, but they also offer excellent services to assist the couple in planning their special day.
Spring in Central Virginia is one of the most special times of the year. And Glencliff Manor’s garden is one of the most magical places in the area. The décor choices for this wedding allowed the flowers to shine making the venue the star of the show (of course next to the bride and groom). Sarah wanted the day to feel relaxed, love-filled, and joyful and we think she was successful.
The food at Sarah & Jonathan’s wedding was a masterpiece. From offering multiple options to clearly marking the ingredients and any allergens, this was one of our favorite wedding buffets ever.
Sarah & Jonathan opted for an ice-cream sundae bar in lieu of a wedding cake. The bright, colorful sundaes were so fun and perfect for this springtime wedding.
The bridesmaids wore mint green dresses from Azazie and the Groomsmen sported suits from Men’s Wearhouse. The couple’s closest friends & wedding party were as fun-loving and energetic as the bride and groom.
Sarah & Jonathan’s afternoon garden ceremony was officiated by Reverend Timothy Brophy of Church of the Good Shepherd.
Sarah & Jonathan are one of those couples that we will remember forever because of their love and infectious energy.
Congrats to Sarah & Jonathan. We loved celebrating with you from your engagement to your walk down the aisle.
