Kaitlyn & Luke 4/30/2022

Kaitlyn and Luke met in perhaps the cutest way possible. Their mutual friends set them up on a blind date at the roller-skating rink. Kaitlyn told us that she and Luke clicked instantly. They complement each other even though they don’t share the same interests. “He is my biggest blessing, and I am so blessed by him! He’s my better half!”

The Engagement

Luke proposed to Kaitlyn at Smith Mountain Lake. “When we got there (we were supposed to take the boat over to the dinner) he took me straight to the dock, only to find the boat missing (our parents and a photographer were on it in the water) and he walked me to a gazebo where he proposed!”

The Wedding

Kaitlyn & Luke were married on April 30, 2022, at Cedar Oaks Farm in Bedford County, VA.

The Details

Kaitlyn told us that she wanted her wedding to be elegant, sentimental, and a celebration of love. We think that she, along with Wedding Planner Amy Boardwine, accomplished that goal.

The team selected colors of white, green, blue, and touches of gold. Kaitlyn really wanted a timeless feeling not only in her décor but in special elements. To celebrate the members of their families who paved the way, Kaitlyn and Luke added a “Generations of Love” table for guests to look at as they arrived.

Kaitlyn was able to share some special moments with her mom while getting ready.

How adorable are these two? We wouldn’t expect anything less from a couple that had their first date at a roller rink.

The Ceremony

Kaitlyn’s grandfather was a pastor. Even though he passed away and wasn’t able to officiate her wedding, she and Luke asked the officiant, Joshua Rutledge, to incorporate one of her grandfather’s prayers into the ceremony.
