Quintel & Rahima 4/3/2021

They say the best lovers are also best friends.

Quintel & Rahima met at work in 2013 and became the best of friends. When Quintel left for basic training in the Air Force, they decided to take their relationship a step further. Rahima spent the time Quintel was away getting to know his family and when he graduated basic training, the couple finally reunited. Quintel says, “From then on we became closer trying to make up for lost time, relying on communication, trust, and the presence of being around each other”.

Quintel planned his proposal long before he actually proposed. Little did Rahima know when he left for yet another military obligation, he’d be returning to ask her one of the biggest questions of her life. “Before I left for my 7-month deployment I shopped around for engagement rings, then finally made my purchase. I took the ring with me overseas, once we came back home, I asked her to meet me at Philadelphia International airport so we could see each other. Once we came down to baggage claim and received our bags, I had one of the troops help me distract her while I was behind her on one knee waiting for her to turn around. Once she turned around, I proposed.”

Quintel & Rahima were married on April 30, 2021, in an intimate outdoor ceremony at Christ Chapel Baptist Church in Lynchburg, VA.
