Wedding Trends of 2022

There’s something about the start of a new school year that has me thinking ahead to the next year. Perhaps it’s because I’m already dreaming of Christmas break or perhaps it’s because new beginnings have me thinking about other new beginnings. Either way, it may only be September, but I’m dreaming of 2022. And, so are many of our brides. As you plan your 2022 wedding, here are some trends to keep in mind.

  1. It’s all about the clothes

In 2022, it will be all about wedding outfits. I say outfit (not dress) because the bridal suit is making a comeback. I knew Carrie Bradshaw was on to something. Next year we’ll see lots of unique wedding dresses, shorter dresses, two-piece outfits (for the bride that wants to be able to “wear it again”), and yes, suits.

  1. “I burn for you”r wedding…

We take inspiration from all types of things when we’re planning a wedding (our past, our heirlooms, our favorite book, movies, and… television shows). Many 2022 brides have been inspired by Bridgerton (I mean, have you seen Simon’s abs) so expect to see Bridgerton and cottage-core-themed weddings next year.

  1. Wish You Were Here

When I was a kid, elopements weren’t very common. Now, elopement is the new black. Couples are choosing Instagram-worthy destinations for their elopements and turning their wedding days into trips of a lifetime.

  1. Go Green

Let’s face it, we can reduce, reuse, and recycle anything & everything. Including a wedding. A big trend to look out for in 2022 is the sustainable wedding. From upcycling to selecting sustainable materials for décor, watch for 2022 brides to go green.

  1. Be bold

Color color everywhere. Gone are the days of expecting to see pastel weddings everywhere. Brides and grooms are opting for bolder pops of color in 2022. (My Crayola-loving heart is so happy about this).

  1. Keep it intimate

I think something about these last couple of years have helped us know who and what is important in our lives. It’s for that reason that I think 2022 couples are choosing to opt for smaller and more intimate ceremonies (no more Sophia Vergara style 400 guest list weddings).  Even though guest lists are smaller, that doesn’t mean the party is. 2022 couples want to party the night away with their closest and dearest.

  1. Terracotta

Be on the lookout for deep terracottas and earthy hues in 2022. Many brides are selecting this as their bold color choice. And we are here for it! Martha Stewart even has a feature on where to implement this star color at your wedding (if it’s good enough for Martha, it’s good enough for us).

As I dream of new beginnings in 2022, the biggest thing I dream about is new love stories. I can’t help it, I’m a romantic. And the good news is that love is always trending.

We can’t wait to work with you in 2022.
